Songs for FAWM
I suddenly remembered that I had promised two songs for all you from my dismal halfhearted attempt at FAWM. Here are the results. Let me know what you think!
(The first one has no melody, but a friend of mine told me that he could see it being sung to Evanesence or We Are The Fallen’s type of music.)
The Pain Within
The pain within
The pain within
has no mirror
except in my heart
where naught but darkness resides
I scramble
I plead
for a moment on my knees
but that ain’t me
It ain’t me
It won’t be me
I can’t let it be me
(Can it be me?)
I fall apart
sink to my knees
waiting for perfection
a perfect day to die
It ain’t me
It won’t be me
I can’t let it be me
(Can it be me?)
The love within
has no mirror without
only my heart
twisted beyond the veil
This next song was written to the the song “Are you going to Scarborough Fair?” and was originally supposed to be a light-hearted nod to Pathfinder, a gaming world created by Paizo. I should really learn to not try to write light-hearted things.
Are you going to Absolom Fair?
Are you going to Absolom Fair?
Silver, Sage, Diamond and Blood
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine
Tell him to craft me a powerful spell
Silver, Sage, Diamond and Blood
Without Study nor Formulae
And he’ll be a true love of mine
Tell him to find me a magical sword
Silver, Sage, Diamond and Blood
That can sever solid from dream
And he’ll be a true love of mine
Demoness, Cross through the veil with me
Silver, Sage, Diamond and Blood
My soul shall ride on your wings to hell
He once was a true love of mine
Are you going to Absolom Fair?
Silver, Sage, Diamond and Blood
Give him my regrets for what we both lost
He once was a true love of mine
So, let me know what you think (beyond the advice that I shouldn’t quit my day job, of course).
